1. How to port a number?
Follow the steps below to port any operator.
Step 1. Generating porting code:
The first phase of porting is to generate a porting code which is valid for only 4 days as per the new regulations of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India).
Send the following text message to generate the code:
PORT (space) (mobile number) from 1900 Ex PORT 9876543210 to 1900
Step 2. Get the porting code:
You will receive an SMS with your code from 1901 called UPC or Unique Porting Code. UPC code expires in 4 days.
Step 3. Submitting Porting Request
The next step is to submit your porting application to the operator or 10digi.com. You can easily do this online or visit the operator store near you.
Documents required: Valid address and identity proof for digital KYC when obtaining a SIM card.
For Corporate / Company Connection: Users must submit a NOC to process mobile number porting for their corporate number. This NOC must be on the company's letterhead and stamped by the authorized signatory along with other documents.
Step 4: Processing Time
You will receive a message on your current network within 1-2 days stating the confirmation or decline of the porting request. It will also indicate the porting date and time.
The porting process takes 3 working days for the same circle porting.

Services on your current SIM will not be interrupted during the porting process. Downtime is only for 2 hours (during the night).
Step 5: Activation
When the old connection stops working, you can use your new SIM and start over.
Step 6. First recharge on new network
On completion of the porting and activation process, the first recharge (in case of prepaid connection) will happen automatically.
2. Porting rules:
This is right! There are also rules for porting. Make sure you follow traffic rules better than you follow them.
Here is a list of important things to be able to port your current network to another:
90 Day Same Network Rule (too short):
To be able to port the number, one needs to make sure that at least 90 days have passed since the activation of your old network that you want to change to a new network. This means that if you have purchased a new number or have ported the number in the past, you cannot port before 90 days.
No outstanding postpaid bills:
A postpaid customer needs to ensure that all bills and dues are paid before shifting. An undertaking form is signed before porting the number. Also, with your bill payment, you have to make sure that you get around Rs. Please pay additional amount of Rs. 50 - 100 which you can use for 3-5 days (ie time to process porting request)
Balance will be closed for prepaid number:
A prepaid customer should know what the mobile balance amount is at the time of porting the number.

Learn from other mistakes, do not do this when porting!
1. 90 days porting before activation
You cannot change your network before purchasing number or last 90 days
Porting. If anyone tries to port before this time, the application will be rejected.
2. Additional usage amount with the bill (Rs. 50-100)
It takes about 3-5 working days to process an MNP request. This means that you will use your old postpaid connection until the new one is activated. Thus, the bill would have to be paid a little extra in the bill (Rs. 50-Rs. 100) to be able to use the number for 3-5 days.
3. Porting Code Mismatch
The specific porting code remains valid only for 4 days from the date it was generated. It is important to use this code within this time. If your porting request is canceled for any reason, wait a period of 4 days for it to expire. Request a re-porting code after 4 days.
